Scott DuPont

Attorney Scott C. DuPont is a seventh generation native of Florida who was born and raised right here in our area. As a result, he understands the legal issues we face.

After his father passed away, Attorney DuPont went to Bible College at Christ for the Nations in Dallas, TX where he met his wife of 28 years, Jackie.

Upon graduating, he transferred to Dallas Baptist University where he obtained a bachelor's in Political Science and Biblical Studies and graduated with honors. During this time, Attorney DuPont and his wife each worked two and three jobs at a time to pay his way through college.

After graduation, he transferred to Regent University in Virginia Beach, VA where he obtained a law degree and master's in Public Policy.

While obtaining his graduate degrees, Attorney DuPont worked full time for the University doing maintenance, painting, and lawn care. His wife also worked full time and without her support, help, and encouragement, he would not be where he is today. As a result of their hard work, they were able to pay their way through graduate school, and graduate practically debt free.

Attorney DuPont got his first legal job working for the State Attorney’s Office as a prosecutor in the Seventh Judicial Circuit. He started off in the Misdemeanor Division, moved up the ranks quickly as a Docket Supervisor, and was then promoted to the Felony Division.

After two years of serving as a prosecutor, Attorney DuPont opened up his own law practice with the assistance of his wife. His practice at that time was a general practice where he served his clients in a variety of areas of law.

After being in private practice for four years, Attorney DuPont ran two successful campaigns for Circuit Judge, and served the public and the bench passionately and faithfully for seven years.

As a Former Circuit Court Judge in our district who has presided over more than 48,000 cases, including thousands of trials and tens of thousands of hearings, Attorney DuPont has a knowledge, understanding, and perspective of our legal system that few attorneys have.

Attorney DuPont currently runs his law practice out of St. Augustine, FL where he serves clients all over the State.

Spencer VanHoose

As a West Virginia native, Spencer VanHoose graduated magna cum laude from Shepherd University in 2018 with a degree in Political Science and Appalachian Studies. She studied abroad in England, Ireland, and Wales to explore her Appalachian roots, because of her love for adventure and travel. She also served as the President of Shepherd University’s Debate and Forensics Team and won awards at the state, national, and international levels.

After obtaining her bachelor’s degree, Spencer attended West Virginia University College of Law to earn her Juris Doctorate. She found a niche interest in international law and joined the Jessup International Moot Court Team, advancing to team captain in her 3L year. She seized the opportunity to study abroad in Geneva, Switzerland, to learn about the intersection between business and international human rights law. She also worked in the Immigration Legal Clinic, where she assisted low-income individuals in removal proceedings and successfully won her first case before the Baltimore Immigration Court. Spencer graduated with honors, including an induction into the Order of the Coif for graduating in the top 10% of her class.

Following law school, Spencer moved to the Sunshine State to take the Florida Bar and work as a staff attorney for the Second District Court of Appeal in Tampa, Florida. It was here that she found her passion for criminal law. She prepared memos and conducted extensive legal research to assist the judges in criminal, civil, and family law cases. She went on to become an Assistant Regional Counsel for the 5th District of Florida, representing low-income clients in a variety of areas, including criminal and juvenile defense and probate law.

Spencer is dedicated to providing clients with the best legal representation because she believes that in all she does, she does it unto the Lord. Colossians 3:23. In her leisure time, Spencer likes outdoor adventures with her pets, Odie and Weasley.
